Venue Selection
When there are not many people, bathroom is the first choice! A motel with a large bathroom is an excellent venue; the large bathtub, free space can accommodate inflatable pool, and is easy to clean. Plus, it's convenient for transporting various tools and materials, though it can be expensive.
It is recommended to use an overnight rental option to give you ample time to set up and clean the venue. A three-hour rest option might be too rushed. Although motels may have large KTV-style rooms, such rooms might still only have a double bed for overnight stays. You can check with the hotel beforehand or rent separate rooms and gather in one for the event.
If you're planning to hold the event during popular holidays like Christmas or New Year, it's advisable to book rooms several months in advance to avoid unavailability or exorbitant prices.
Ordinary hotels often have the problem of insufficient bathroom space or no bathtub. Although you can use Pre-taped masking film to expand the play area, the lack of space for pool cleaning may limit the types of activities you can do.
During group activities, there might be a situation where everyone wants to shower after the event, but there's only one bathroom. A larger bathroom or multiple showers will be helpful; another option is to prepare a clean water pool for everyone to rinse off the slime before showering, making it more fast and convenient.
If it’s winter, participants might quickly feel cold, so you might want to prepare heaters and electric blankets. Choosing a hotel with already heated air conditioning is still a better option. In Taiwan, many motels have air conditioning that can't be controlled and may be too cold, but you can ask the hotel front desk to borrow a heater.
Material and Equipment Preparation
- Slime materials
- Pre-test the trial packs to get familiar with mixing properties
- Several known capacity buckets like 10 or 20L
- Stirring rods; an electric drill can make mixing much easier
- Bath sponges
- Pre-check the bathtub capacity (if using Inst-Pool)
- Remind everyone to bring towels, change of clothes, and play outfits
- A bucket for washing clothes (if entering the pool with clothes on)
- A roll of plastic bags for everyone to take wet clothes home and for packing trash
- If possible, have one or two helpers
- Optional: Bath caps for long hair
- Optional: Anti-slip mats or disposable absorbent mats
- Optional: Pre-taped masking film and a roll of regular/removable tape
- Optional: Extended shower hose
- Optional: Heating equipment
- Optional: Inflatable bathtub and inflating device
- Optional: Rubber scraper for easy cleaning of floors and walls
Safety
Be sure to watch out for slips and falls. Wet, sticky floors can be a challenge for everyone’s balance! If someone falls, it might interrupt or cancel the entire event, so it's crucial to set up anti-slip measures. I bring a roll of anti-slip floor mats, you can use towels to create pathways instand (which need to be changed frequently).
In my studio, the activity area is first covered with soft mats and then rubber flooring for extra cushioning. When someone needs to go to the bathroom, they should be assisted to ensure they step on the non-slip mat.
If the play area is not in the bathroom, you may need to carry buckets of water/slime back and forth, which is especially prone to slips! If possible, lay anti-slip mats and ensure regular physical exercise to reduce the risk of back injuries from lifting heavy objects.
Using electric heaters requires special attention to power consumption, ensuring no circuit exceeds 10A to avoid power outages and dangers. These should not be exposed to water, especially since the heat from electric heaters can scorch or ignite items directly in front of them, requiring careful placement.
If using kerosene or other fuel-burning heaters, ensure proper ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning and set up protection to prevent accidental burns.
Host
Many people experience slime for the first time and may have more barriers, making the ice-breaking session very important. Arranging for someone who has played with slime before to go in first and pull others in or setting up small interactive games can be effective.
The space in the bathtub/pool is limited, so cramming too many people in at once might hinder movement, sometimes requiring proper arrangement for different time slots. Also, since the shower space is usually limited, it's important to let people take turns showering at appropriate times.
For players leaning towards Messy Play/WAM, arranging quick-win games can help the event progress smoothly. Foam dice and other props can be useful.
If possible, prepare a few assistants who can help during the game, ensure safety when going to the bathroom, and assist with final cleanup.

Venue Cleanup and Restoration
Be sure to restore the venue to its original state after the event to facilitate future use and provide more venue options for players.
If possible, cover the walls, floors, and furniture that might get splashed with slime with Pre-taped masking film for protection. Although it looks a bit unsightly, it makes post-event cleanup much easier! Put everything that needs washing into the bathroom, peel off the tape and roll it into the bathroom, and then stuff it into trash bags to finish quickly!
Be aware that duct tape can peel off paint from unstable surfaces and might tear easily due to its thinness; laying a double layer when necessary is advised. The tape has adhesive on only one side, so stepping on it with wet feet might peel it off. Prepare a roll of tape to reinforce the other three sides.
After the event, scrub the floor with bath sponges or brushes; slime gets even more slippery when wet if not scrubbed off. Quick cleaning during the event and scraping off the slime can reduce the risk of slips.
If the bathtub allows direct drainage, mix water into the slime while stirring to dilute it and let it flow away is good. If there is large amount and thick, toilet can be a quicker option.
For cleaning the slime from the pool, using a square bucket or dustpan can increase efficiency. Check for debris or important items before discarding the slime to avoid losing anything important.
Diluting the slime with water before draining can be very helpful. I press the toilet flush button before pouring in the slime so it flows down quickly and easily.
Cleaning an inflatable pool can be tedious as all surfaces need cleaning. If you have an outdoor space with a water hose for spraying, it will be easier; the more laborious method is deflating it and scrubbing inch by inch in the bathroom.
Our slime products are non-toxic and biodegradable, breaking down naturally in the environment within days to months. Rest assured in their use.
We have been operating in a 40-year-old apartment for several years, cleaning hundreds to thousands of liters of slime each month without any clogging incidents so far.
